Review/Etsy Finds: TribalStyle, 'Black Nahlia Curls (Fake Gauges)'

Price:  $16
Rating:  ☺☺☺☺☺!

Natural and eco-friendly, all of TribalStyle's earrings are hand-carved from wood, coconut, and salvaged bone and horn from domesticated water buffalo.

I found these earrings while researching Gothic aesthetics for a Cybergothic presentation based on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for my literature course last quarter--TribalStyle sold imitation gauges similar to that of Lisbeth Salander for people with regular pierced ears.  Intrigued, I browsed through their shop and fell in love with the intricate designs of their products.  After having much difficulty deciding on which to choose,  I finally purchased a small black pair of Nahlia Curls made from Ironwood, measuring 1.5 inches in diameter.  The earrings are split with surgical steel post separating the front and back, which gives the illusion that your ears are gauged.  Although they look heavy, they're actually quite lightweight and fit very comfortably on the ears.  Unfortunately, I think these particular ones are currently sold out right now; however, a pair of brown curls made of Sono Wood are available for purchase--click here for more information.

*When leaving feedback, you can send in appreciation photos for a chance to win a free pair of earrings and  be featured in their shop.

TribalStyle is one of my favorite jewelry shops on etsy--all of their products are beautiful and affordable, I highly recommend that you check them out.
