Review/Etsy Finds: Madison Street Beauty Mineral Foundation, 'Almond'

Price: $13.99 (large)
Rating: ☺☺

Pros
+100% natural
+Cruelty free
+Hypoallergenic
+Non-comedogenic
+Fragrance-free
+Oil & talc free
+Fast shipping

Cons
-Not true to color; goes on lighter upon application. According to the description, 'Almond' is for light to medium complexions with warm undertones; however, the shade is suitable more for people with fair-light skin
-It's far from being a "weightless" foundation--it goes on a bit heavy (the texture is kind of similar to Physicians Formula's Mineral Wear, Mineral Face Powder), leaving a thick and chalky finish
-Difficult to blend; can leave obvious patches on your skin if you're not thorough with your technique

Notes
.The large size contains 5 grams of product in a 20 gram jar with a sifter (this is a standard amount for mineral powders)
.Ingredients include mica, a natural mineral which adds a slight but noticeable shimmer under sunlight
.Although this product didn't really work for me, there are many great reviews based on the feedback from their Etsy shop; if you're curious, you can purchase a sample (1 gram) for $4.99 to try it out before investing in a full sized jar.

Tip
If you experience similar results from this powder, fear not, it is salvageable. I find that with powders that go on thick and chalky, spritzing your face with a mineral water spray helps diminish the cakey effect.

Observe the chalkiness :(
